KARGER, Arieh Michael Of West Newton. Entered into rest August 28, 2012 at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Stephanie (Lorber). Devoted father of David Karger and his wife Allegra Goodman of Cambridge, Sharona Kay and her husband David of FL, and Amir Karger and his wife Jodi Hoffman of Sharon. Loving brother of Shoshana Kaufmann and her husband Hugo of NY. Cherished grandfather of nine. A First Lieutenant in the IDF, Arieh served in the Sinai and Yom Kippur wars. Services will be held at the Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 1668 Beacon St., BROOKLINE, MA. on August 29 (today) at 3:00 PM. Interment at Beth El Cemetery, Baker St., West Roxbury. Shiva will be at his late residence in West Newton. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to Brandeis University, Waltham, MA or Congregation Beth El-Atereth Israel, Newton Centre, MA 02459. Hello Karger Family -

My father always considered Arieh his most loyal and loving friend. Whenever we were going to visit with the Karger and Arieh he was like a kid at christmas.

Whenever I was around Arieh I felt as though I was around a true friend, someone who at the drop of a hat would be there for me and my family in any way possible. Just as he was when my dad passed away some years ago. Both Stephanie and Arieh were there for my family every step of the way.

I just heard about his passing minutes ago and I can tell you my dad was the first one at the gates of heaven greating him
