Aristotle (Ted) Laskaris, of
Danvers, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully October 5, 2025 at the age of 92.
Ted spent his childhood in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School in 1950, where he proudly played on the football team and was team captain. When he was 16, a friend told him he had found "the perfect girl" for him, and that introduction began a remarkable 75-year journey with his beloved wife, Elaine.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University in 1954 and subsequently received a teaching fellowship at Northeastern University, where he completed his Master of Science degree in 1956. That same year, he followed his brother John in joining the Masons, where he became the youngest Grand Master they had ever had at the time.
Around that time, Ted also discovered his lifelong passion for golf. He joined Tedesco Country Club in Marblehead, where he played for many years. Two especially memorable moments were inviting his brother John to play in a tournament, where the two won, and later achieving a hole-in-one.
In 1961, Ted joined AVCO/Textron Systems Corporation, where he held a leadership position for more than 30 years. He was well regarded for his expertise, particularly in carbon-carbon technology, and among his proudest professional achievements was contributing to NASA's Apollo missions.
After retiring from Textron in 1990, Ted and Elaine relocated to Southern California for seven years, during which he served as President and CEO of a division of Amoco. He later founded his own consulting business, Technical Operations, through which he contracted with the United States government to work with the British and French governments on their space projects. This work took him across the United States and around the world, to China, Russia, and throughout Europe, fueling his lifelong love of travel. He especially cherished traveling with Elaine and discovering new cultures together.
He was predeceased by his parents, Georgia and Theodore Laskaris, and his siblings, Mary Pappas, Nick Laskaris, and John Laskaris.
Ted is survived by his devoted wife, Elaine; his daughter Leslie Barlow and her husband, David Barlow, of Byfield, MA; and his daughter Kristen Laskaris of Los Angeles, CA. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Christopher and his spouse, Scott Barlow; Ashley Barlow; and Teddy Barlow and his wife, Laura. In addition, he is survived by his beloved nieces and nephews, including Georgia Pappas, Kay Bithony, T.J. Laskaris, Elizabeth Stone, and Jacqueline Perkins.
Ted will be remembered for his kindness, intellect, dry wit, and quiet strength. His love for his family and his curiosity about the world around him enriched every life he touched.
Special thanks to Ted and Elaine's wonderful neighbors, the Holland family, for their constant kindness and support; to their devoted caretaker, Valerie Cook; and to their cousin, Elena Kirios, for her steady presence, helping hand, and listening ear.
