Arlene LUHNING Obituary
December 25, 1945 - October 16, 2017
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Arlene Janet Luhning on Monday, October 16, 2017 at the age of 71 years. Arlene will be forever remembered by her husband Richard, her children Warren (Robyn) and Clark (Lisa) and grandchildren Harrison (11), Brooke (9), Trevor (8) and Sierra (7). She is also survived by her brother, Don Kuyek, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. Arlene was a devoted mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. She loved social gatherings and relaxing with family and friends in Sicamous, BC. Arlene spent much of her professional career focused on helping children and families by providing adoption services for children and youth in Calgary. In lieu of flowers please direct a financial contribution to the Children's Cottage Society www.childrenscottage.ab.ca. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Eden Brook Funeral Home, 24223 Township Road 242, Calgary, AB T3Z 3K2. We were very sorry to hear of Arlene's passing.
It was so nice to see your family in the park this past Easter.
It only seems like yesterday that we were all spending our time in the hockey rinks.

So shocking to hear of Arlene's passing. Working with Arlene was such a special time. Her sense of humour, her professionalism, her compassion shone at all times. We shared stories of our travels and our grandchildren. A very special lady gone too soon. Condolences to the entire family.

We are sorry for your loss. Our family is forever grateful to have known Arlene while living a few doors down from the Luhning home. Our fondest memories of Arlene include her walking past our house, her listening skills and her infectious laugh. We were always impressed she would never miss her walk even on those cold Calgary nights. What a true gift she was to everyone on our street. She will be dearly missed.
