Arney Angus Pulford

Pulford, Arney (Angus), 94, died peacefully at her home in Wethersfield, CT on August 5, 2024. She was born in Manhattan, NYC to her parents Olive and William Angus. Eventually growing up in Bedford Hills, NY. She attended Rippowam School, Saint Margaret's High School, and Barnard College. After graduation she took the grand tour of Europe and spent time with relatives in Scotland. Throughout the years she donated her time to the PTA, Wethersfield Garden Club, and Wethersfield Historical Society. Arney touched many lives through her kindness of welcoming new neighbors with food, listening to anyone who needed an ear and always lending a helping hand without being asked. People have described her as one of the kindest, sweetest people they knew. Arney will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family came across the following which Arney wrote in 2007, "Today I see myself as very happy, having ended up where I had hoped to be. With my loving husband we raised 3 caring, responsible children who have given us 4 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, two great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren to enjoy and watch mature. As a child I was fortunate enough to grow up in the country, attend Barnard and after graduation enter into a marriage that led to many trips to Brazil and visits with lovely family there. This opened up the world to different cultures to our children. Many Barnard classmates did this also with their letters about their travels and homes around the world throughout the years. My travels and close friendships have enriched my life. Maybe not a remarkable life but a very rewarding one."

Arney was predeceased by her husband Robert Pulford -77 year love story. She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; Robert A Pulford and his wife Linda Contento Pulford, their daughter Amber O'Brien and husband Tyler Schenck and their daughters Arielle and Zoey. Evelyn Pulford Domby and her husband Charles Domby . Their children Arthur Domby, Elizabeth Domby Ebert and husband Pake Ebert and their children Charles and McKenna. Wendy Pulford Vonick and her husband Richard Vonick , their children Kyle Rogers, Mary Rogers, Jennifer Vonick, Kyle Vonick and his wife Itzel Feeney Vonick , Scott Vonick and his wife Christina Bicknell and their children Jax and Aria. As well as her sister-in-law Roberta Angus. and nephew William Angus. She was predeceased by her brother David Angus.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Vanessa whose love, care, competence and sense of humor helped Arney and our family on this journey. They would like to extend sincere thanks to Leah, Melissa, Ashley, Tasha, Chasity, and the "little ones" who came with their Moms. They always made Arney smile. To the neighbors and surrounding neighbors who enriched Arney and Bob's lives and kept an eye out for years, thank you for everything. To HHC at Home Hospice : Andrew, Courtney and Megan you were and are amazing ,as well as the entire support team.

A private memorial service will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
