I met Arno at the first meeting of a new committee at Bell Labs in 1976. When the committee had to decide where to meet next and the discussion dragged on I suggested jokingly that we should meet in a steam bath in Coney Island. Arno called me the next day to ask how did I, an Italian immigrant from Newark NJ, know about steam baths in Coney Island. This started a friendship that endured from then on. Angelo Lamola

My husband and I met Arno in Freshman Physics class at CCNY in 1951. I believe I was his lab partner. We continued our frendship when both Morton and Arno were PHD physics students at Columbia Univ. We last saw Arno in San Francisco.
