PEORIA - Arnold G. Alexander, 83, of Bellevue passed away at 4:03 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
He was born Sept. 10, 1925, in Peoria to George and Anna Ponicsan Alexander. He married Norma Hoffman in Bartonville, Ill., on Sept. 22, 1950. She survives.
He also is survived by his four children, Brian (Audrey) of Leawood, Kan., Debra (Doug) Bateson of Hanna City, George of Lake Forest, Calif., Brenda (Rich) Seward of Elbert, Colo.; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Zora Turnbaugh of Geneva, Ill., and Anita Heuermann of Peoria; and one brother, Richard Alexander of Bellevue.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Helen.
Arnold and his wife operated the Bellevue Market for many years before retiring.
Cremation has been accorded. Private services will be held at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria.
Memorial contributions may be made to the food pantry at St. John Lutheran Church in Bartonville.
