Arnold Díaz was a reporter and consumer watchdog whose news segments "Shame on You," "Shame Shame Shame," and "What a Shame" made him an icon in the New York City news scene and the bane of bad businesses everywhere.

My first memory of Arnie was in 1955 when we became neighbors in North Miami Beach when our dads who both served in WWII built neighboring houses on the GI bill. Arnie and I played baseball, football, tennis and fished together. We were in the same high school club (Classics) and we were roommates for one year at Florida State. After going our separate ways after college, we periodically caught up with each other - it was like we had just picked up where we left off. Arnie was one of a kind. Although we hadn't talked much lately, I feel a hole in my life and history learning of his passing. I miss him. RIP Arnie - you were a good man.

So sad to hear of Arnold Diaz passing. He did so much good, and was the very best of all the consumer advocates, many of whom followed his lead. RIP Mr. Diaz.
