Arnold Edward Freeman

Arnold Edward Freeman was born on May 16, 1949, and received his wings to heaven on Monday, April 24, 2023. He is the husband of Minister Priscilla Isaac Freeman and the father of Elder Antoine and Simonia Patterson, both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Mianikia (Deidrick) Woods of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He has a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is the son of the late Josephine Clark Freeman and Johnny Freeman. He was the brother of the late Ray Reynolds, Dorothy Mathes, and Laverne Dillard. He has one sibling, Walter (Shari) Freeman of Bolingbrook, Illinois. Freeman accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a young age. He was baptized at the local Church of God in Christ. Freeman served in the United States Army for five years, serving two tours in Vietnam and one in Germany. After being honorably discharged from the military, Freeman worked for Carnegie Steel Company in Chicago. When he moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, and later to Kenner in 1980, Arnold worked for many years at the Department of Juvenile Corrections in Bridge City, Louisiana. He served as a maintenance repairman. After retiring from this job, he went to work for the Jefferson Parish School Board. He worked there for five years and then took his full retirement at sixty-eight. Freeman leaves to mourn his devoted wife, Priscilla Ermetta; his children, Elder Antoine, Simonia, and Mianikia (Deidrick) and his brother, Walter (Shari) Freeman; his sisters-in-law, Ava Reynolds, Louvenia G. Suggs, Deborah Elaine Patterson, Jean Ellen Isaac, and Natasha G Isaac, his godchild, Laticia Patterson, uncles-in-law, Rev. Willie Brown (Rosa Lee) and Rev. Arthur (Lula) Brown. He leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Freeman, this is not goodbye. I see you in heaven by and by. I loved you very much, but God loved you the most. So long for now. I'll see you in heaven by and by Love your wife, Priscilla, and Family. Relatives, friends, all neighboring churches, also employees, students and staff of East Jefferson High School, and Ehret High School are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 10:00am at Oakland Baptist Church, 825 Rev. Richard Wilson Dr., Kenner, LA 70062. Pastor Charles Hurst, officiating. Visitation 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be at Love and Charity Cemetery, Kenner, Louisiana. Richardson Funeral Home of Jefferson, River Ridge, LA is in charge of arrangements.
