Arnold Grubel Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 28, 2025.
On September 22, 2025, Arnold Edward Grubel passed away at the age of 78 in Millersville, Maryland. He is survived by his wife of nearly 43 years, Patricia, with whom he built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Born on August 5, 1947, to Arnold and Dorothy (Busch) Grubel in Land O' Lakes, Wisconsin, Arnold grew up hunting, golfing, skiing, and playing football and baseball. He was proud of his upbringing and worked hard alongside his family in their restaurant and tavern. Those close to him called him "BG" after his father and grandfather.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a Chinese linguist in Vietnam, where he earned multiple medals/honors. After returning from the service, he spent most of his career in the aerospace and defense industry.

Arnold treasured his family, and nothing brought him greater joy than time with his children and grandchildren. He loved being out on the golf course, where he found challenge and peace, and even scored a hole-in-one. With quick wit and constant encouragement, he inspired those around him to give their best.

He is survived by his children, Eileen Catte, Elizabeth (Todd) Wood, Brian (Emily) Grubel, and Alexis Grubel; grandchildren Lincoln Wood, Max Grubel, and Finn Grubel; siblings Jerry (Peggy) Grubel and Barbara Grubel; mother-in-law Fay Sarro; sister-in-law Karen (Andy) Baker; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his siblings, Keith and Benji Grubel.

He lived his life with strength, grit, and love. We will carry his memory with us always.

If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation Smart Home Program, which builds homes for veterans with service-related disabilities. https://t2t.org/donate/
