Virginia and family
So sorry to hear of Arnie's passing. He was my senior high school principal almost 60 years ago and we played golf together a number of years after I was out of school. Everyone who knew him has been better off having known this compassionate man. He taught by example and the example he set for us helped us in our daily lives.

Karen, condolences on the passing of your father. His passion for education obviously was passed on to you. Thank you for sharing that with us. May these memories sustain you in the future.

Ginny, I was sorry to hear of your husband's death. I was thinking of him recently and remembered teaching for him back in 1966--my first classroom teaching opportunity. However, I remember even more his interest in and support of me in my life and future and his understanding and support when I left teaching to join Campus Crusade for Christ. Your entire family showed kindness to me and my family. I think how differently Arnie's life would have been if he had been accepted onto the Brooklny Dodger's team or if his life had been taken in the South Pacific. God had a great plan for him and for you and allowed that plan to grow and blossom for many years.

Thinking of you all at this time. I will always remember Mr. Hagen as he carefully audited student records at Bean Elementary School. His friendly, professional manner was always accompanied by a smile you never forget.
