Arnold W. Shadrick

Arnold W. Shadrick, 81, passed peacefully on Monday, April 3, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Suzanne C. (Clover) Shadrick.

Mr. Shadrick is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and Lee Wilcox of York; his son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Leslie Shadrick of Annapolis, MD; grandson, Tyler and wife Melinda Wilcox of Carmel, NY; granddaughter, Lauren and husband Ryan Sheehy of Mt. Wolf, PA; and grandson, Ryan Wilcox of York; a great granddaughter, Lillian Sheehy; his sister, Inez Rosenberger of MD; and two brothers, Robert Shadrick of MD and William Shadrick of FL. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Benjamin Shadrick.

Born June 24, 1941 in Baltimore, MD; a son of the late Arnold A. and M. Janet (Wharton) Shadrick; he received his Bachelors of Arts in English from the University of MD-College Park. He then earned his Master's in Education from Bowie State University. Arnold was a lifetime educator and served as an English teacher from 1966-1972 in Prince Georges County, MD; and then as a guidance counselor in Charles County, MD at Henry E. Lackey High School from 1972-1999. He spent his years of retirement enjoying his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Shadrick will be fondly remembered for his prickly and witty humor.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held privately. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements.
