Arnold Ivan Wilson, age 98, died Tuesday, August 8th, 2023 at The Village of East Harbor, Chesterfield, MI. Arnold was born in Peterborough, Canada on July 3rd, 1925, the son of William and Addeline Wilson and grew up in Flint. Arnold enlisted in the Army for WWII and after separation from the military, he graduated from General Motors Institute. Arnold worked for General Motors for over 40 years at A.C. Spark Plug in Flint as a machinist in the Tool & Die department. On October 22nd, 1949, Arnold married Marion F. Chaffer. Arnold was always very crafty and had many hobbies. After retiring, Arnold and Marion wintered in McAllen, Texas for over 20 years. He became an avid woodworker & carver, specializing in desk watches, he has won several awards for his paper quilling projects depicting wildlife and dabbled in oil painting. He also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Arnold has lived in the Village of East Harbor for over 5 years. Surviving are his three children, Mark Wilson (Donna), Scott Wilson (Morgan), Lori Hernandez; 5 grandchildren, Lindsay (Shannon) Livengood, Ryan (Jami) Wilson, Kevin (Emma) Wilson, Jason (Ashley) Wilson, and Leah Hernandez; 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion F. Wilson, his brother Royce M. Wilson and his son-in-law Alfredo Hernandez. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 20, 2023 from 12-5 p.m. with a 5:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Wasik Funeral Home-Gendernalik Chapel, 35259 23 Mile Road, New Baltimore. Burial in Flint Memorial Park on Monday, August 21st. Those desiring can make contributions to The Village of East Harbor.
