Arthur Henry Bauer

BAUER, ARTHUR HENRY Arthur was born in Coronado, Calif. April 5, 1913. Parents, Henry and Augusta (Wirth) Bauer came from Germany. Both parents became ministers and started East San Diego Assembly of God Church at 3737 Wightman. Arthur, his brother Werner and sister Pauline assisted. After Arthur graduated from Glad Tidings Bible Institute in San Francisco, he pastored a beginning Church. Then he taught in a Bible School at First Assembly of God in San Diego for some years. He volunteered to teach in a Bible School in Peru. Because of World War II he could not go but went temporarily to Cuba 1943-1945 and Costa Rica, 1945-1947. In Cuba he met and married Eva Carlson, a missionary teacher from Iowa. Eventually they spent 30 years in Peru where Rebbeca, Daniel and Paul were born. They both taught in Bible Schools there and returned to Spring Valley because of Eva's poor health and children's need for higher education. She passed away in 1974. Four years later, Arthur married missionary Martha Jacobson and they taught five years. Together at Eastern Nigeria Bible College in the primitive area near the Cameroon in Africa. Upon retirement at Spring Valley in 1986, they continued in mission efforts by supplying literature, food, clothes used cars and lumber to Mexican Churches. At 91, Arthur had a peaceful, no suffering passing to his eternal new and after a life time of ministering to others. He died Monday, October 25, 2004. He is survived by his wife Martha Bauer. Children Rebecca Cabada, Daniel Bauer, and Paul Bauer. Service will take place at Humphrey Mortuary 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91910. Visitation time will be on Saturday, October 30, 2004 from 2:00-6:00 PM. Funeral Service will be at Humphrey Mortuary on Monday, November 1, 2004 at Noon with Interment following at Mt.
