In memory of
Paul Bellantoni
February 14, 2009
I have been a performer for decades now, but my first musical experience was alongside Carey in "L'il Abner" in the joint Fenn/Nashoba production. He was Abner, I, Marryin' Sam. I will never forget the loving, joyous and wonderful spirit of his. I wish I had known the man he became as well.

I just found out about his passing. I remember Carey full of life and was wondering about him recentley. I would love to pass on good thoughts and hope everyone who's life he touched will remember him with kindeness

I would like to send my deepest sympathies to the Day family. I only recently head of Carey's passing from the Fenn School Bulletin; I am sure all of our classmates would share the same warm memories of Carey, his humor, his kindness, and willingness to poke fun at authority figures who took themselves too seriously. Although I did lose touch with Carey after Fenn, I will forever remember and be grateful for the impact he had upon my life as a young boy. Carey, wherever you are, stay "Jolly!"

I am deeply shocked and saddened to hear that Carey has died and would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his friends and family who share in the loss. I remember Carey fondly as a classmate at the Fenn School. His sense of humor, sportsmanship, and that we dated the same girl in ninth grade will stand out in my mind as fond memories.

Susan, Arthur (Sr) and Karen,
Our family sends prayers and well wishes to all of you. We only just learned of Carey's death this week and it has been quite a blow. From discussions on Ravi Zacharias to listening to Ben Okafor, we had some terrific times with your husband/son/brother. Carey's zest for life was an encouragement to many, even as he struggled with issues that many of us seldom want to acknowledge or address in our own lives. To Carey: God worked through you, my friend, in some very creative ways. Prayers and blessings.

I was deeply shocked when I received news from Lawrence that Carey had died. He and I were good friends in high school and, though our paths parted shortly after graduation, I always think about him and the 'gang' (including The Bannister, Marcus of Arylius, Samulus- you know who you are) and our 'good old days,' with the fondest of memories.
The music of Pat Metheny always makes me think of Carey who introduced me, and I'm sure many others, to interesting music outside the mainstream.
Some may remember this original riff:
"Steve McGarrett was a man
Who lived on an island... yah.
He's not so bad, as you and me
He's not so bad, oh can't you see... ah bada bop bop bada bop bop."
Rest in peace Carey.

I knew Carey when we were at Lawrence Academy together. He stands out vividly in my mind as a funny, charismatic, creative boy who was universally liked. My family and I send our condolences and best wishes for his wife and family.

My heart goes out to Susan and Karen and the Day family. I knew Carey as a child, as he was a good friend of my brother's at Fenn and Lawrence
Accademy. I remember him very fondly. I saw him a few times as an
adult, but in my mind he'll always be that charming boy I knew back
then. Carey, and you who love him, will be in my thoughts for a long time to come.

Carey was a great contribution in helping me learn everything I needed to know about landscaping. I had a fun time working with him for two summers.
