Hard to believe that Arthur has been gone for four years! Seeing him biking all over Whidbey Island was always an inspiration. And the Whidbey Half Marathon we completed still is very memorable.
Hope his wonderful family members are all doing well!!

I am beyond emotional just learning about Dr. Grossman's passing. I met him when I was 25 years old and was pregnant with my first baby. He was kind and calming and so good to me and both of my children all the way until they both turned 18 and headed off to college and to start families of their own in different parts of the state. My daughter played soccer when she was in HS and we would bump into him several times over the years on the fields. Dr. Grossman was such a wonderful doctor and man. He took care of all of us in a way that is completely lost now. I will never forget him and I pray his suffering was short and that he is doing all the things he loves in heaven. My heart is broken to know he is gone. Until we meet again........God speed!

Dr Grossman became my physician when I became pregnant with my son over 34 yrs ago until his retirement.
It saddens me that his retirement and precious time with his family was cut short.

Heartbroken to hear the sad news of Art's passing. Words cannot express or do him justice because he was an extraordinary doctor, friend and human being! I'm so sorry to hear of Arts' passing. He was a very kind and dear person to all of us at LA Fitness in Lynnwood. I looked forward to his class every week. He made the class so much fun with his sense of humor and unique style of teaching. He will be dearly missed by all of us.

Art coached my son on Cascade Avalanche Soccer Team for two years from 2001 to 2003. His example as a coach has had a lifetime impact on my son. Taylor, my son, said the other evening that Art was strict but fair. His commitment to the team and the game never wavered. Our family is better off by knowing him. I agree with the description of him in The Herald article, he had no ego. He never took credit for all of his accomplishments, he just quietly enjoyed the success of his efforts.

I was saddened to hear of Dr. Grossman's passing. He became my doctor when I was 17 years old. He was my kids' doctor and a couple of my grandchildren's doctor. I always felt that he was taking time when I came in. He had a mild manner and I appreciated that he lived the life he asked others to live.

I was sad to read of Art's passing. He was a great man. He coached my daughter in soccer for a few years and had actually delivered some of those girls on the team. The girls loved him and he rarely showed up to a game or practice in a car always on his bike. My condolences to his family!

My condolences to Virginia and family.
I am greatly saddened by Art's passing. I served as a referee with him and he knew the rule book inside and out.
A fine gentleman, someone who gave a lot back to his community and a huge asset to Everett.
We are lucky to have has such a shining example in our community.
Best regards to his family from mine.

Colleen, delivered by Arthur, called to tearfully tell me the news of Arthur's passing. He was a wonderful doctor and a truly nice man. Arthur will be missed. We met in 1978 and he was our doctor until he retired. Our families became friends and exchanged baby sitting, shopped Legos together, went to the opera, played dominos, and shared meals. I never knew when he'd stop by on his bicycle and would often find him in the yard enjoying whatever berry was in season. Memories put a smile on my face while tears brim. Virginia, Emily, Gretchen, Andrew and families - we are so sorry for your loss.

We were blessed to have Dr. Grossman as our son's pediatrician. I was a new Mom and not sure how things worked. In to my hospital room walked this gentle man and I hadn't actually met him yet. He said, they called and told me I have a new baby. He was the best. Our sincerest condolences to the Grossman Family.

We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Art. We have such good memories of the time when he coached our daughter Nicole on the shooting stars soccer team. He was dedicated to providing our girls with the best possible experience. The girls dearly loved him and it was so evident that Art genuinely loved them. No matter how hard he tried to be tough on the girls underneath he was a teddy bear. We appreciated his integrity, high standards he set for the girls and what a great role model he was. Thanks Art!!! He will be greatly missed!

I met Dr. Grossman when I needed another GP after Dr. Ebert retired. Our doctor/patient relationship began. It went well for a couple of years but he continually increased the "you need to lose weight" pressure on me. Of course he was correct! I finally received "the lecture". Instructive but firm. After coaching on a couple of specific techniques and my best execution of his recommendations, I was able to drop about 45 pounds. I believe this will be a life changer for me! Thanks Doc!! I also enjoyed running into him at the Y on numerous occasions as well as discussing the ins and outs of park board membership of which we both experienced at different times. We had other doctor /patient discussions between us that are hilarious - that I would be glad to share in person.

I'll miss ya Doc!!

I'm really sorry to hear of Dr. Grossman's passing. I called on Dr. Grossman as a medical rep for about a decade. He was a very special doc who cared deeply about his patients and treated everyone around him with a great deal of respect.

He and I shared a passion for cycling. I'll never forget seeing him on the last RAMROD I rode several years ago. He had a ridiculously low bib number (like 15), which is indicative of being one of the oldest riders to gut out 150 miles and 10,000 feet of climbing. He was special; both tough and relentless and a real gentleman.

My sincerest condolences to his family and close friends.

December 27, 2017

Virginia, what a shock I really thought Arthur would live forever. I am so sorry for your loss and all or our loss. Virginia I think of you often when we had the play group for the kids and how I envied you for having such smart kids...oh gee ...please accept my deepest sympathies as I never expected Arthur to ever go away. He was a great guy and Medical Doctor...Carl and I have retired and are living in La Paz, BCS....Please stay in touch...I know this is a hard time for all of you and we send our deepest sympathies...Carl and Kathy Pearson....

Dr. "Art" Grossman. What a great man. Many in our Community will feel his loss. We will also feel comfort with who he was and what he did for our Community. Snohomish County Soccer Icon. YMCA Fixture. Cyclist, and Doctor for many. He was Dr. Grossman when we visited his Dr. Office. He was Art on the Soccer Pitch. He was funny and stern. Whenever driving and I'm sharing the road with Cyclist, I always say out loud "don't do it Art". I say this to assure myself Cyclist will hold their line as I am approaching. I will continue to do this and have a feel good moment thinking of Art ~ Dr. Grossman.

Oh my heart is broken to see my favorite doctor has passed. He always took the time to stop and chat, at the office, out for a run, biking, or at the soccer fields. He was truly a very special man. He delivered my son many years ago...and my grandson was one of his last to be delivered. He was such a sweet guy...he will always be remembered, he has touched a lot of lives. I'm sure there will be no resting in peace, he will be cycling, and running in heaven. Gold bless you Dr. Grossman for all you did for everyone.

Arthur and I joined Everett Family Practice Center in 1977. I have never known another physician with more compassion and more talent. It was an honor to work side by side with him for 20 years. He was also a terrific husband, father, teacher, and coach, as well as an incredible inspiration in terms of physical fitness. Also nearly impossible to beat him in bridge. He will be greatly missed by so many people he helped during his life! Randy Gould

I'll always remember Art as a source of inspiration and strength. On those mornings I thought I just couldn't get up and go to the YMCA, I told myself if Art can do it, I can too. We enjoyed joking with each other and I honestly respected him and his sense of humor.
We'll all miss him and our class just will not be the same.
Painless cycling forever!
