Art Handler was a gentle man, always thinking of others before himself. In his youth he longed to be a professional athlete, sneaking off to be a bat boy for the Cleveland Indians. He had talent, but that profession was not to be. He participated in pick-up basketball games, well into his sixties. He used his skill as a handyman helping neighbors without charging, because it was the thing to do. He was inventive, creating the first TV remote control in the 1950's, albiet it was a stick with a forked end which would change the channels without getting up from his chair. A wonderful man who will be missed by his family and the few left who remember him as neighbor and friend.
