Met Arthur in 1970 in Deland .Fla. with Donald Duke NOPD.Couldn't afford to get a room, so AJ got me a motel and paid for breakfast. Answered every question I had and showed me his machines. AJ was one hell of a guy. Sorry I didn't get to him better. Truly one of a kind. Harry Schmidt; Detroit,MI

From Paraguay, South America, Arthur Jones was a truly Genius, I have heard from him since 1979, his way of thinking help me to overcome both personal and technical setbacks by using logic and common sense. Now I teach my kids about this great human being. He was a fantastic gift to the humanity, he was a light in a world of shadows, he was hundred years ahead of his time. If Mother Nature could create such a bright living creature like Arthur Jones was, it makes me believe there is a Creator. May Jones rest in peace and I am sure that him and his legacy shall never be forgotten.

Arthur Jones taught me to think! Have healthy doubts about the world and opinions. I still earn my living because of time he spent with me.

At seventeen years of age in 1972, i had become entranced with the revolutionary ideas of Arthur Jones. I remember calling his office in Deland, Florida speaking to him personally on several occasions. Arthur took the time to speak to me at great length as he patiently and empassionately explained to me the principles of the Nautilus system. It became very evident to me that Arthur was very giving of himself to everyone who was sincere enough to listen with and open mind. I later purchased the double arm machine for my own home gym. Embracing Arthur Jone's teachings throughtout an entire lifetime of weight training, his insights have forever compelled me to continue in my quest for the truth when it came to weight training, and in looking at life in general from a no-nonsense perspective. Thank you Arthur for being the lamp of my bodybuilding life on earth. May God embrace you in His love and mercy. You'll be missed.

I met Arthur Jones for the first time around the late sixties. I had opened a small body building gym in Tampa, Florida. Arthur Jones came in one day and introduced himself to me. Arthur was a very interesting man and I enjoyed talking to him. Soon, I found we had a common interest in gym equipment, so I began showing him some equipment I had designed for my club. It was very common in those days for small gym owners to design some of their own equipment. As I remember, Jones discussed some ideas he had with me and, then, left.
Sometime later I heard from him again. He talked to me about a new machine he had developed and the advantages it had over conventional exercise equipment. At that time, I didn’t understand the full concept of the Nautilus machine, but the idea did get my attention and I knew I was going to spend a lot of time on the telephone bombarding Arthur with questions. When I did call him, Arthur would go into great detail patiently explaining the exercise machine. I learned a lot from Arthur in those days.
On other occasions, my wife and I would go to his place at Lake Helen to visit him. He was always gracious and would go out of his way to spend time with us. It seemed he always had something new and interesting to show us. Those were exciting days. They were memorable days and we will never forget his attention and kindness. He was a very special man.
My wife and I would like to offer the family of Arthur Jones our deepest sympathy over his passing. May those things about Arthur you love live in your hearts forever, as they will in ours.

Arthur will forever be linked with exercise and rehabilitation as the innovative genius at the base of high intensity exercise. I was fortunate enough to have known Arthur for over 35 years, being one of his original distributors for Nautilus and again working with him with MedX. He was one of a kind and a genius in many ways. His legacy will include the infusion of logic into the field of exercise and rehabilitation. He often referred to his machines as “logical barbells” and indeed they were and are because they allow the practice of the cause and effect relationships that he taught so well. He will be sorely missed by all of us who know what great contributions he has made and understand the importance of the knowledge that he imparted. He was a friend, mentor, and innovator whose impact will continue to be felt for ages to come. He lived his life as he advocated exercise, with high intensity.

Arthur I maybe your oldest living friend we first met when we were both in the wild animal and reptile business, me with The Florida Wild Animal Farm at Callahan, Fl. and later I went into the circus business. You were then importing animals and reptiles and you were then the greatest "hands on and in the field" herpetologist and zoologist in this country. That was long before Nautilus, you told us then you were a genius but we didn't believe you, after you invented Nautilus in the seventies you flew over to Savannah where at that time I had Chico's Monkey Farm when I met you at the airport at your private plane we shook hands and you said " you have just shook hands with wealthiest man you have ever known" . You visited my farm we had dinner , you flew back to New Orleans and we didn't see each other again for many years later. We shared a private happening the first time we met and laughed about it every time we spoke since. You brought in the last big shipment of African elephants and sold them to circuses and zoos in North America and they are still referred to as Arthur Jones elephants. We spent our last afternoon together three years ago and cut up old times and old friends. I was going to call you next week to tell you I had moved back to Sarasota, too late. Arthur I would like to make this toast to you. " We come into this world all naked and bare...we go thru life with troubles and care... when we die we go God knows where... but i we do good here... we will do good there. Arthur Jones did good here. Goodbye Old Friend.

Enter into rest my friend

Arthur delighted in sharing his vast knowledge of exercise with whomever would receive it. I'm just one of the millions who will benefit throughout a lifetime. Thank you Arthur and I trust you met the Creator of the Universe, whose creations held such interest and facination for you from the animals of the World to the people who inhabitied it.

And to all Arthur's family and friends, may God's love, peace and comfort be made real to each of you during this time of personal loss and sadness. May God bless each and everyone one of you in a very personal and private way. To truly know the Creator is to know the true meaing of life and your purpose in life. God's love to all.
