A year has passed but you have not been forgotten. Daves Lake Shack, Sowles Bay, will always remind me of Art. Remembering a year ago decorating planters for Christmas and the joy it brought to him. Gone but never forgotten. His name is brought up often.

Art you trully will be missed. I first met you at Sowles Bay in 1996. You were and always was very helpful for even the littlest things. Especially when I brought in the "big boat". Big boat bring "bigger" problems, but "bigger" memories. Thanks for being there. Take care my friend

Dear Art,
I think you give me far too much credit for picking out a phillips head screwdriver at the age of 2 in 1982 while you were working on something at the dock.

I think the best laugh I ever heard was when we entered Gigi's 80th birthday party at the same time, and someone thought I was your wife. You wouldn't let that go for a long time. I miss you, and will always remember your laugh.

Patty and I first met Art at a Guntruck event at Randy Recht's House. What little we got to know Art those few days left an impression on us. What a nice person he was. I think he gave more that what he received. Web&Patty

Art, you were a great friend for so many years. Although most of our time together was spent working on "Chugger" or some other project, it was always a great pleasure. I'll miss the times we shared together and will always cherish the memories. We'll see you on the other side. God bless!

Was so sorry to hear of Art's passing. We enjoyed Art's company at Lake James and when he came over to Big Long. Art was always a lot of fun and had great stories.

Art, you are the best neighbor in the world. Niles and I enjoyed your company and will miss those conversations we had on the weekends with you at the lake. You are a one of a kind!

Art, We've known you for over thirty years--you've always been a good friend and a fun guy. You're one-of-a-kind and you leave a void. There's not enough space here to tell the many funny stories, but we'll fondly remember and recycle them from time to time. Don & Susie Bonness, Kokomo,Indiana

Art (George) and I were the best of pals in elementary school (South Wayne), junior high (Hoagland), and high school (South Side). I'll always remember the good times we had together. Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

Art, you will never be forgotten. I will miss your presence and your knowledge. What i wouldn't give to be aboard "chugger" once again learning the history of the lakes, and poking fun of your tattoos. Thank you my friend, for playing such a great role in my everyday life. You are greatly missed by all.

You were the man full of so much knowledge and if anyone had a question about something you were there to give them an answer. Hope you are getting those duck eggs that you've wanted for breakfast. You'll be greatly missed. Kathy Carroll

Art, we will miss you dearly. We will miss those times when we visited the Rechts and had breakfast at the shack with you. We loved those boat rides on Chugger. There will be a hole in our heart next time we visit the lake. The Vietnam guntruckers want to welcome you home.....John and Meva Dodd, Hinesville Virginia.

So sorry to hear about Art. I dated Art in high school and he always enjoyed life to the fullest. The picture of he and I in the photo album from the South Side High School junior prom brings back fond memories. He was always smiling and made you feel important. I know he will be missed by his family and friends.
