Art was my grandfather's twin. I recall meeting him once when I was a teenager, and remember his humor, energy and wit. Best wishes from south florida. My mother said he flew down to florida after me and my twin sister were born so that he could meet us.

Hi family, I saw the sale signs on your family home here in Constance Bay, and did some research. So very sorry to hear about you Dad. We had so so many good times here on the beach. You will all be missed. As a child we all played together, and I will miss all of you. Marney Webster.

We are so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. We moved down the street from him in 2006 and he was the first neighbour to welcome us! He always had a big smile and kind words to brighten your day. Our condolences to the family.

Dr. Mackey was my family doctor all my life (I was born in the early 50's) until he retired. He was a fine man with a big heart and really cared about his patients. I remember when he did home visits to my ill Grandfather in the late 50's and thought nothing of it. Just a great doctor with genuine compassion. May you RIP Doc - you will be missed.

So sad to learn that Dr Mackey has passed. He was friend to his patients and the best of Doctors. Dr Mackey was empathetic caring and straight forward. An example for all in medicine. Thank you. The Kirby family.

To the Mackey family!
Dr. Mackey was our family physician from the day we married and moved to Ottawa in 1967 until the day he retired. He always had a wonderful sense of humour. He also delivered both of our daughters. When my father died, although he never met him, he showed up at the funeral parlour to offer his condolences to us. What a wonderful man he was and we missed him very much when he retired. Hard to find his type of doctor today. Hopefully the wonderful memories of your father will help ease your sorrow.

Very sad to hear this news about Dr. Mackey's passing. Dr. and Mrs. Mackey always welcomed their children's friends with open arms and wonderful chats around the kitchen table. I was one of those lucky friends, and during the early 1970s many of us spent lots of time at the Mackey home and cottage. Diane, Kim, Joan, Ken, Jim, and Bill - I am left with so many wonderful memories of time spent with your folks. May your memories of your Mom and Dad help you through this sad time. (((hugs)))

I am sharing your loss at this time. I was very fond of Dr. Mackey. He was our family physician for years from the time he was with Dr. Webster. My association with him began when I was seventeen, he also delivered my children and guided me through some very difficult times with sound advice. Now at 77 years I remember and will never forget his devotion to his patients, sense of humour and overall being a warm, kind and generous gentleman. May many fond memories comfort you at this time.

Dr Mackey was our family Dr for as long as I can remember. I was born in 56 and up until his retirement in the mid 80's he was the guy! If you needed to see him thee same day, he was available. He was also part of the medical system that would visit you at your house when you were sick and could not get to him. Back then, this was common practice. The day my mother passed away in 1980 at the Grace Hospital, the nurses there could not believe how fast he got to the hospital to try to help/save her. Heart attacks often do not wait. I have nothing but respect for him and it is a sad loss. Prayers to all his extended family. R.I.P. Dr. AG Mackey.

I spent several years going in and out of the Mackey home with Diane - always welcomed with a smile and a joke from Dr. Mackey. His keen interest in all of us was very genuine. He even pierced my ears at his kitchen table!! I will always treasure the memories of the Mackey family home on Piccadilly and the cottage at Constance Bay. It was a privelege to be welcomed into that circle. My thoughts are with all of you now.

Dr. Mackey delivered me and was my physician until he retired. My husband had the pleasure of getting to know him over the last few months. I will always remember his wonderful bedside manner, his genuine concern, and how he always had a kind word and a smile. Our thoughts are with you during this sad time, may your memories comfort you.
