Artie was a fine gentleman, whether running the Hell Gate launch or when we met cruising Long Island Sound. He will certainly be missed.

Artie was a friend and a great aid getting on and off ships off City Island. We sent many a night together waiting for those coming in from the Sound and he also waited for my east bound vessels. One night I came close to going swimming in the Winter and it effected him very much. He is with us all now.

Saddened to hear of Ducky's passing. He was well-known and liked by everyone. He and Lorraine were a devoted couple.

I am sorry to hear of "Ducky's" passing. I graduated with him from PS 17 and we were in some classes together at Columbus High School. He and Lorraine were a lovely couple.

As a teenager working the gas dock at Consolidated yachts, I would watch the Pilot boat bring Pilots to and from ships. I thought what a unique job that was. One day my wife and I happened to meet Arty and his wife Lorraine while out shopping. Arty and I got to talking; I told him how it had always been an ambition of mine to operate the Pilot boat. He told me there happend to be an opening if I was interested. So there I was at Sixty years old operating the Pilot boat with Arty. He made it possible for me to scratch that one off my bucket list.
Arty always had a great salty story to tell.
I will miss Arty dearly.
