Portsmouth - Arthur Sacramone, 93, of Portsmouth died peacefully at his home on March 26 after a brief illness.

Arthur was born in Everett, MA. August 3, 1930 son of Vincenzo and Assunta Sacramone.

He attended Everett public schools, and proudly served in the U.S Marine Corp attaining the rank of Gunnery Seargent. While stationed at the Portsmouth Naval Prison, he met his future wife Helen and settled in Portsmouth.

Arthur was a self-employed master electrician starting his own business in 1961. It is still in operation after 63 years.

Arthur was an avid outdoorsman enjoying many hunting trips with friends and family. He especially loved spending time at his camp in Brookfield, NH where many great times were had. He was a family man who loved tradition. His family brought him so much pride and joy. One tradition he cherished was starting his tomato plants on St. Patrick's Day each year with seeds from the prior year. This year we did this with him at his kitchen table. Being a generous man, he looked forward to sharing his plants with many friends.

He was married to Helen Marcuri for 63 years before her passing in 2015.

Arthur is survived by brother Robert Sacramone of Chelsea, MA, son Thomas J. Sacramone of Portsmouth, NH, son A. John Sacramone & wife Felicia of Greenland, NH, granddaughter Mariel Sacramone and Shane Winslow of Stratham and grandson Vincent Sacramone and Ruby Hayes of Rye, along with many loving nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Helen Sacramone, parents Vincenzo and Assunta, brothers Frank, Dominic, Vincent, and Frederick Sacramone.

So sorry we missed the services as we were in Florida. We love your family so much going way back to when Tom was a little guy who came after school to listen to me play the piano. John and Jenny Stone had a part in my wedding. Your Dad was my mentor growing tomatoes. Your Mom one of my Mom's best friends. Sending love with a hug to your all. Rosemary and Dave Smart

Arthur and Helen invited me to their camp. The food they served were as sweet as Arthur and Helen´s characters were. Arthur, with his energetic lifestyle and warm smiles will be greatly missed.

To the Sacramone family,

On behalf of the Seacoast Detachment #394, please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of Seacoast Marine Arthur Sacramone. Art served his country proudly and was well thought of by his comrades both in and out of uniform. Although his presence among our ranks will be sorely missed, take heart in knowing that he has taken his well earned place among those great Marines who have gone before. Take care and God Bless. Semper fidelis, G.A. Corson, Adjutant, Seacoast Detachment #394 Marine Corps League.

I had the honor of officiating a presentation at The Warwick Club recognizing Arthur as a 50+ year member. He loved the Club. And he loved his Family, Country, and Community. Arthur was a Patriot and a class gentleman. I was very fortunate to meet him, and he will be missed.
