Art and Martha were dear friends and neighbors. Martha and I attended church together and lunches with friends. She always cheered me up when I spoke with her. Art was the best tomato grower and would alwsys share the watermelons that he bought in the summer. They had many friends here at Pinehurst Trace and are missed.

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a golfer playing No. Two
I am a ball of knitting yarn that’s blue
I am that sense of humor that never fails
I am a mystery book that weaves a good tale
I am a good checker board game
I am the gentle, Pinehurst-scented rain
I am an old blue sweater worn with ease
I am a family member who likes to tease
I am a happy meal of pizza and beer
I am vintage Christmas cards held so dear
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do no stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
