Arthur Watson III Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 4, 2023.
Arthur W. Watson III, T/Sgt, USAF (retired), died of unforeseen complications due to a heart condition on May 14, 2023, in Carmichael, CA. He will receive full Military Honors and be interred at Dixon National Cemetery in Dixon, CA on 07/05/2023.

Arthur was born in Port Gibson, MS in 1948, the only son of Arthur W. Watson II and wife Thelma. In time he came to have a younger sister, Darlene (deceased) and a younger brother, Avery, also step-father Willard Anderson who still lives in New Orleans, LA. He graduated from Walter L. Cohen High School in New Orleans, Class of 1968, where he also was on the Green Hornets football team.

During his high school years, he met and later married (for some time), "the love of his life" the former Roslyn Godchaux of New Orleans (daughter of Herman and Mildred Godchaux of New Orleans, both deceased). Soon after graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force, got married the following year, moved to California, and was stationed at Beale AFB. From his marriage to Roslyn, he has a son Keith and a daughter Jill, both of Sacramento, CA.

During his life, Arthur also played guitar in several bands, DJ'd, traveled, and had many close friends. He loved to entertain and spend time with family and friends which included grandchildren Asia, Keishawn, and Soleil (son Keith's children) and Keith, Kahlila, and Stephon (daughter Jill's children).

This is just a "glimpse" of Arthur's life, for there is so much more that could be said! Life is like a mist appearing for just a while, then disappearing...Arthur William Watson III will be truly missed...with so much love.
