Arthur E. Woolley

Father Woolley was my favorite Priest at St. Lukes, and a dear friend. I loved his faithfulness to the Lord, and he taught me the true meaning of faith and love for Jesus Christ. I could go on and on, but I will just say he was loved and respected for his service and faithfulness to our Lord .

Father Woolley was my favorite Priest. I attended St. Luke´s Episcopal Church & St. Michael´s of Frederick. He was a truthful, kind & sincere man of great faith. He taught me the true importance of faith in God. I owe my undying love & faith of our Lord to his teachings. May he rest in peace. I can still see him preaching the gospel and rocking back and forth a habit he developed while rocking his children while studying. He was proud of his family. I loved Alma, she would sit near me at services at St. Luke´s.

I had lost Father Wooley's new address, and got online to see if I could locate it. I was sorry to hear of his passing. He married my first husband and I in Maryland in 1988, and baptized my two sons. We exchanged Christmas cards each year. It brings me happiness to know that he has been reunited with his beloved Alma in heaven. He was an understanding and compassionate man, who always had time to lend an ear. You and I were blessed to have him in our lives.

I enjoyed meeting him, talking with him and knowing him for the
short time I lived at Westminster. I attended his church and met his daughter who played the piano.

I met Father Woolley when I relocated to Maryland, was looking for a home church and visited St. Luke's Parish, Bladensburg, Maryland. He was welcoming and became an inspiration to me in my growth as a child of God. Under Father Wooley, I became a Junior Warden, a Senior Warden, and a Lay-reader/Chalicist. He was the greatest mentor to me in my Christian walk.

Father Woolley was the man of God who taught me the boldness to proclaim the Word of God. He preached the undiluted Word of God passionately, even in retirement. I will miss him. I will also miss the cards and letters I get from him at Christmas.

May God provide strength and comfort to the family he has left behind.

May Father Wooley's soul rest peacefully with the Lord, Amen.
