I will never find a buddy as I had with Art! He was like a dad to me! We always got along and worked together on many projects the Memorial, the old legion building and building the one we have now!
All the old guys are gone now, people don't care and want help! That was 38 years ago I met Art .& Gloria that has been half of my life time.

Art loved people and his family next thing I was part of his family, we traveled many miles for the American Legion enjoyed our trips to Little Rock for the conventions. Our first trip was 1989 with in 3 years I was the Southw2est State Vice Commander he was a pusher keeping me moving up the latter of the Legion. I miss this little guy with the big heart.

This guy came into my life as a veteran working on the Korean Vietnam Memorial working harder than most younger men half his age. Art and old blue his truck he called it hauled off the rubble from building the memorial. Art invited me to the American Legion there was work to be done and so many of the older veterans couldn't get around I joined the Legion and Art had project's and repairs. days turned in to months then years and 29 years he left us. Even thou he's gone I'm still working to do what he would wanted to be done. Art you may not be here in person, but your here in sprit. I know your there with all those that carried the torch for our Nation and fellow Veterans.
We Love you old friend.

Dear Sis and family,
Lucy and I have fond memories of our brother in law and his uniqueness... His making (and sharing) his home made yummy wine, watching the cooking channel with him and sharing tips on spices and culinary equipment, his cooking up a delicious green Chile stew made in one of his favorite chefs aluminum pots, his love of gardening and our wonderful trip to the American Rose Society in Shreveport! ...so beautiful. Ah, the wonderful memories... and who can forget the fish fry at Evelyn's and Duma's house? May wonderful memories of Art's uniqueness comfort you during this sad time as you celebrate his life well lived. With love and hugs from California xxoo

Mrs. Candelaria, I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Candelaria's passing.
He was such a help to my mom Nelwyn Burns when my dad Raymond passed in 2008. I am forever grateful for him being there for her. She talked so fondly of both of you. I salute your veteran. My condolences for your loss and appreciate his service to our country.
Hold onto the memories. He led a remarkable life and has a wonderful family. I pray that God grant you and your family peace and comfort during this difficult time. Many blessings.

Ray, I'm so sorry for the loss of your father.
He was special to everyone that had the privilege of meeting him. I know it leaves a huge emptiness in your family's hearts, but through it all, heaven gained a special angel. I pray that God give you and your family strength and comfort during this time.
