ARTURO C. DELAROSA, 78 ROCKFORD - Arturo C. DeLaRosa, 78, of Rockford died at 11:45 a.m. Dec. 16, 2009, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, after a long illness. Born July 21, 1931, in Port Arthur, Texas, the son of Jose Ma. DeLaRosa and Micaela C. DeLaRosa. He lived 47 years in Rockford, coming here from Mexico. Married Maria Otila Rosas in Allende Coahuila, Mexico, in 1955. Employed as a machinist by Essex Wire for 26 years, retiring in 1993. Arturo was a member of St. Anthony Church. Survivors include wife, Maria Otila; daughter, Alma; granddaughters, Melly, Liz, Esmeralda, Samantha and Fortuna; brothers, Guadalupe and Miguel Angel; sisters, Alicia (Guadalupe Valdes), Maria Guadalupe (Mere Ruiz) and Maria DeLosAngeles (Oscar Lira); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rafaela DeLaRosa of Rockford, Brenda DeLaRosa and Elsa DeLaRosa, both of Mexico and Carlos; also numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, Jose Ma. DeLaRosa and Micaela C. DeLaRosa; brothers and sisters, Graciela Acosta, Andres C. DeLaRosa, Jose Ma. DeLaRosa, Raul DeLaRosa; and mother- and father-in-law, Jose Rosas and Josefa M. Rosas. Maria DeLaRosa would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff who took loving care of Arturo, especially Dr. Ingracia from OSF Saint Medical Center. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, in St. Anthony Church, with Franciscan Friars officiating. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
