1930 ~ 2010 Arturo Nuno, 79, of Arroyo Grande, passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at home surrounded by his family. Arturo was born in September 1930 on Terminal Island, Calif., and spent his childhood years in Guadalajara, Mexico, and San Pedro, Calif. As a U.S. Marine, he served with the 1st Marine Division in Korea. After serving his country, he spent the next 40 plus years as a Merchant Seaman. Arturo was also a member of the Marine Corps League Central Coast Detachment No. 680 in San Luis Obispo. He chose to spend his retirement years in Arroyo Grande enjoying his family, especially his great-grandchildren. Arturo is survived by his son, Arthur (Cheryl); daughter, Christine Coffey (Patrick); grandchildren Ronda and Jamie Nuno, and Shane and Brett Coffey and great-grandchildren Sierra and Peter Rodriguez. Arturo was a long time friend of the family. i grew up knowing a wonderful person,always giving,and never asking in return. I always look forward when Art visited us here in San Pedro.
My father and uncle grew up with Arturo. I heard many stories. Arturo will all miss you so much,RIP friend.

My great grandpa nuno was the best great grandpa in the world.I miss him a lot . But I will always love him very much.I love him every second,even when I am at school.I hope that he is happy up there with Jesus and God,and help watch and protect my little brothers and me.I love you very much.

My great grandpa nuno was the best great grandpa in the world.I miss him a lot ,and I love him very much ,more than anything else in the world.I miss him every single second,even at school.But I know that he is in the best place in the world.I hope that I will see him again,and that he is happy up there with Jesus and God,who will protect my little brother and me.I love you more than any thing Grandpa Nuno.

My grandfather was the most wonderful man. He loved his family so much. I miss him everyday. It is a comfort to know he is home with Jesus. I look forward to the day I get to see him again. I love you Grandpa Nuno.

I was suprised and saddened to hear about Art's passing. I enjoyed seeing Art everyday at the Cortina d'Arroyo Grande Senior apartments. I will miss seeing him at the puzzle table every morning.
