Arvie Marie Caughfield, 93, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Arvie was born on September 20, 1920 in Streetman, TX to Roy and Cora Jones. She attended Mary Hardin Baylor College and Texas A & I University. She was a longtime resident of Combes and a member of the First Baptist Church in Harlingen.
Arvie is survived by her husband, Eddie Caughfield of Combes; children, Roy Caughfield and his wife, Penny of Merritt Island, FL and Kathy Back and her husband, Kennith of Lafayette, LA; grandchildren, Karen Overmann of Houston, TX, Christy Janitch of Green Bay, WI, Andy Caughfield of Orlando, FL, Becky Kuehn of Quincy, MA, and Martin Back of Denton, TX; great grandchildren, Gabe Janitch, Hunter Janitch and Luke Janitch all of Green Bay, WI, Micah, Matthew, Lydia and Lauren Overmann all of Houston, TX.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Arvie Jeane Kuehn.
Visitation hours will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, August 1, 2014 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 2, 2014 with the Rev. Chris Hall officiating. Entombment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Lee Young, Randy Young, Bill Adams, Randy Baker, Bart Haynes and Nechio Lopez.

Mrs. Caughfield was a beautiful lady on the outside and the inside. The faithful devotion that Mr. and Mrs. Caughfield showed to one another was an inspiration to anyone who knew them. Our prayers are with the Caughfield family.
