REDMOND, Miss Ashiya- age 13, of Flint, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Monday, July 6, 2020 with a 1:00pm family hour at Judson Baptist Church, 4471 E. Atherton Rd., Burton, MI 48519. Pastor Leslie Lee officiating. Calling hours are 1:00pm-6:00pm Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Sheldon T. Banks Funeral Chapel, 3021 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, MI 48507. The final resting place for Miss Redmond will be Gracelawn Cemetery, Flint, MI.
Miss Ashiya Frances Redmond was born September 17, 2006 in Flint, MI the daughter of Shalanda Robinson and Kuwaun Redmond. Ashiya was a 7th grade student at Richfield Public Academy. She had an outgoing personality and was the "life of the party" she loved dancing and had special interest in pets. Ashiya was a sweet little girl and a natural born fighter with a loving and caring spirit.
Miss Ashiya Redmond leaves to cherish her memory: mother, Shalanda Robinson; father, Kuwaun Redmond; brothers, Kuwan Redmond and Kamahri Redmond; sister, Shontazhia Robinson, India Redmond, Kiahri Redmond and Quanteria Redmond; grandfathers, Carl Evans and Alfread Robinson; grandmothers, Lawonda Remond, Leana Morris and Excell Morris; uncles, Clarence (Leola) Redmond, Marcus Redmond, Alfred, Brenard and Eddie Robinson, Anthony King, Antwan Redmond, Tyrell and DeAndre Morris, Christen Carter Harvey and Walter Evans; aunts, Janet Drish, Totiona Mayfield, Elaine and Rosemary Evans, Lorraine Akins, Tammy and Sharon Robinson, Margot and Jhonnie Morris and Stacey Melton; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special cousins, Alaya King, Lavon Parker, Kamya Hollins and many more.
Ashiya was preceded in death by: Alfread, Robert, Eassie and Curlee Robinson, Clarance Redmond, Patricia Bryant, Thomas Logan, Jerell Melton, DeAndre and Charlie Morris, Barbara, Zina and Brenda Tiggs, Tanica and Kendra King, Georgia Battles and Paul Lee Jr.

I'll never forget meeting Ashiya when she lived down the street from me. I was her teacher at church also and fell in love with her and India! Her strength amazed me when she went through her eye surgery. I will never forget her. She'll always be my girl! Prayers for strength to get through this Shalonda and family.
