Ashley Mackey Obituary
Ashley Jordan Mackey passed peacefully surrounded by her family on November 17, 2014. Ashley entered this world and the hearts of those who loved her, April 21, 2013, two months earlier than anticipated at 2 lbs. and 12 oz. Her petite size does not match the enormous hole left in our hearts by her passing. She was diagnosed with an extremely rare heart disease – her heart was too big. In her short time with us, Ashley showed us what it means to be joyful, strong, and brave.
Ashley loved being held and rocked, reading books, taking all of the items out of the pantry one-by-one, music, working on puzzles, playing outside, throwing things, being surrounded by family, feeding the ducks, dancing with her parents, and making animal sounds. Her smile, laughter, and the monkey face she would make were able to touch so many lives; she will be sorely missed and forever loved.
Ashley is the daughter of Peter and Lauren Mackey of Charlottesville, VA. Her paternal grandparents are Wade Mackey of Wilton, IA and Bonnie Mackey of Dickinson, TX; her maternal grandparents are Michael and Maureen Richards of Bohannon, VA. She is the niece of Shannon Mackey, Jennifer Stewart, and Kate Richards.

A Memorial Service and reception will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Teague Funeral Home.
