As a new teacher to North Surrey, Attila was always around to give helpful advice and make us newbies smile. He had a passion for teaching that was infectious and his smile made everybody happy. Students would look at their schedules and become ecstatic seeing his name next to their class. Attila, you were an inspiration and I hope I can one day be in the same class as you when it comes to teaching. You will be missed friend.

My condolences to Attila's family. I have not seen Attila since teaching with him in the 1970s but he has always been with me, his smile, his sense of fun, his enthusiasm. Sunday night floor hockey would never have been the same without him.

I had him for Grade 11 and 12 math at QE.
He was a good teacher, very patient.

I remember Mr Csiszar as a very, very patient math instructor with a great smile. The probability of me making it through the Probability and Statistics course at QE would be significantly lower if it weren't for him. He was able to work with me as a kinesthetic learner - not an easy task, unfortunately. I'm sorry for your loss.

I got to know Attila during my first year of teaching at NSS, and we would sit and have lunch together in the math prep room. He was passionate and encouraging, and had so much knowledge and advice to share. I feel honored to have known him, and to have had the privilege of spending that time learning from him. I will never forget his smile, or his love for apple strudels. Never have I gained so much respect for someone in such a short amount of time. The quote "knowledge will give you power, but character respect" comes to mind...Attila, a man of such power, character and respect, you will be missed.

I was shocked, as most people were in our district, when we heard the news. He was such a huge instrumental and inspiring person when I began my teaching career back in 1997. He was the driving force as our Math Helping Teacher for Surrey District before he retired. He was intelligent, he was bold and fearless. I have an enormous gratitude to Attila Csiszar for all the advice and help that I received over the years. I will miss him dearly.

My name is Marie Mandoli. My husband Peter Mandoli who was also a Math teacher and school administrator in Surrey, often spoke of Attila. I do believe that when Peter was at Newton Junior, we came to a party at your home. Peter passed away in 2008, but I know he would want his family to let your family know how very sorry we are for your loss and that it was a sincere pleasure and honour to have known Attila.

I'm sure that I would have understood Calculus if Attila was my teacher. We worked together at Princess Margaret, and I will always remember his great sense of humour.

What a life force you were! I am shocked and I am deeply saddened to know you will no longer be sharing your laughter, your intelligence, your energy and clear-minded view of the world. You were a treasure and I enjoyed every moment I worked with you and every conversation we had. I will miss you.

Attila is one of the reasons why I became a teacher. He was my Math 12 and Calculus teacher and he just had a way of explaining things perfectly. Everything was so clear; I never took a page of notes in either course. As a new teacher I hope to one day be as great as he was. Thank you Mr. Csiszar!
