AUDREY M. (YESTER)
Age 85, of O'Hara Township, passed away peacefully into the hands of God on Wed., July 15, 2015, at St. Margaret Hospital while in the arms of her "best friend" and husband of 60 years, Jack, and her beloved daughter, Heather. Audrey was born and raised in Sharpsburg, PA, and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1949. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rose Yester; and brothers, "Fritz", Henry, Billy, Paul and Myron; along with sisters, Rita Mae Hutchison and Divine Providence Sister, Roselyn Yester. She is survived by her husband and best friend, Jack; and sons, John (Michele) of Pgh., Kevin (Liz) of Manasaas, VA, Daniel (Patty) of Cambridge Springs, PA, James "J. T." of Washington, DC; and daughter, Heather (Terry) Golden of Pgh.; and her five beautiful grandchildren, Brandon, Krista, Kyle, Abby and Matthew; and two beautiful step-granddaughters, Erin and Lindsey. Audrey taught grade school at St. Mary's School in McKees Rocks, PA, and retired from the Thrift Drug Credit Union. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Pio Parish in Blawnox, and was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She fought a long, hard battle this past year with her illness until God said "good job, you had enough, come home to me". She was our family's "heroine", and our family would like to thank her many friends and neighbors for their prayers and medical people who lovingly cared for her. Visitation Thursday 6-8 p.m., Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the THOMAS M. SMITH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, LTD., 930 Center Ave., Blawnox, where family and friends will gather Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass St. Pio Parish, St. Edward Church, at 10:30 a.m. The family requests memorial contributions to St. Pio Parish, 450 Walnut St., Pgh., PA 15238 or the Christ Child Society, 128 Carrie Ann Drive, New Kensington, PA 15068.
