Mrs. Audrey May Ligon

Audrey May Ligon, 84, went to be with the Lord on February 26th, 2014 at the Wexford House in Kingsport. She was born in Norton, Virginia on May 9th, 1929 to the late Bill and Martha Cowden. Audrey had been a resident of Kingsport for over 50 years. Audrey was preceded in death by her husbands, Junior Brummitte and Ernie Ligon; one brother, Terry Cowden; one sister and brother-in-law, Jessie and Sidney Sword. Left to cherish Audrey's memory are cousins, Phil Salyer, Sharon Vaughan and Linda Wood; a nephew, a niece, and a long-time special friend Joy Baker. The committal service will be held on Sunday, March 2nd, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Oak Hill Memorial Park, with Rev. C. Ray Vaughan officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the committal service. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Salvation Army in memory of Audrey. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation for the dedicated service and devotion of caregiver Mary Ann Slagle, during Audrey's years of illness.
