Some words shared amongst family and friends:
Hi Linda, Chris & Diane,
I've been thinking of you and your families so often today. There isn't a day goes by at ARBI that your Mom's name is mentioned either giving hope to other families when telling them about Mel's recovery or just remembering her common-sense approach to life when faced with issues or challenges. We did share so many happy times and she always had a joke up her sleeve and could put a smile on anyone's face!
Audrey truly made an impact on me and I'm so grateful that she helped to shape my career path. I learned so much from her....her approach and philosophy are still very much alive at ARBI today.
Sending you all warm ARBI hugs as we remember such a special lady.
Mary Anne xoxo

Audrey,
Another chapter ends today as we celebrate your life tomorrow in our own special way. To say you are missed is an understatement, as memories bring smiles of times we shared. The card games, the chats and the words of encouragement are just some of blessings you have inspired our family with. You guided and accompanied us on our paths for so many joyful years leaving us with our wonderful memories that we treasure. I feel quite content knowing you are now with George, bless you both until we meet again our beloved friend, Our Mom….
You are greatly missed. You were a lady of such great faith and humility, and always made people feel like they were truly your "friend." Remembering always "The Angels are Watching"!

Valerie and I would like to send our condolences on the death of your mother. We met your Mom 20 years ago when we heard about the ARBI program she had set up in Calgary. We were amazed at the way she approached the clients and got them to do the impossible! The atmosphere at ARBI was really special, such joy and happiness, you could actually feel it. She was an amazing women who gave so much to the brain injured in Alberta and beyond. We did eventually set up SARBI in Saskatoon with lots of help from Audrey and the staff at ARBI. Our official opening was very special when Audrey was able to attend. It is still operating.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you mourn the loss of this great lady.

Dear Linda,Chris,Dianne,Dianne,& Family
I am saddened and so sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. As you know I met your Mom shortly after Mel's accident when your Mom and my Mom (Alice) started working with Mel. It's not often that someone comes into your life and touches your soul in such a profound way. Audrey was a wonderfully kind, unselfish, and very special lady. She enlightened everyone she met, with her sparkling personality and razor sharp wit. Anyone that had the privilege of knowing her and calling her their friend felt her amazing courage, unending wisdom and loving spirit. We were all truly blessed to have such a beautiful person in our lives. While Audrey will live on in our memories she will also be terribly missed and the world seems just a bit dimmer now. Goodbye my friend, rest well. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Sincerely,
Maureen (Laine) & Michael Basiewicz

Dear family;
My association and friendship with your mom goes back to times when we would meet at the local community hall, for bingo. Indeed, that's where we first met!!
I never did figure out, how...in the midst of telling a fascinating story...she could yell Bingo!!
She next convinced me to join her choir, at Woodcliff, and so it was. Many years of praise, alto section, doing our best, as neither of us could 'read' well, though we had an ear. Marilyn forgave us, as we at least blended.
From these beginnings, came the ARBI connection.....but you know all of that.
Your mom's artistic talent amazed me. I am the proud owner of one of her originals....done after her trip to the Holyland.
A most extraordinary soul.
She will have been met by dear husband, cherished friends..Marilyn, Rev. Hunter. And many more.
Blessings...............

To the girls and families,
Having watched Audrey's "Love in Action" first hand while working at ARBI, like you, I'll always have many great memories.
Listening to her speak about her girls and all the stories over the years were great. As much as you all will miss her, she will be up there as a "shining star".

I was so sorry to hear that your Mom, Audrey, had passed away. Years ago, I sang with Audrey at Woodcliffe United, and was touched by her amazing humanity. Her love, kindness and gentle spirit has and will always be remembered by me.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Humanity has lost a GIANT. Audrey's spirit was of such warmth and strength that I often tell people that if she were standing on the other side of a wall - I would feel her presence. She has been the spirit I have leaned on to make the most difficult - and the most necessary decisions in my life. She is also the spirit of my neurosurgical practice - which is distinguished by compassion and respect for all people. Audrey's life has achieved the highest purpose. She has improved the quality of every life that she has touched. I revel in the immortality of her spirit and personhood. I love you to the core my most special and extraordinary friend.

Dear Dianne, Chris, Linda and Families:
I was totally saddened by the news of your dear mom's passing. I always considered your mom as my second mom while growing up next door to all of you in Wildwood. Her contagious laugh and sense of humor, her sparkling personality, her kind, smiling eyes and her unmatchable caring nature were such a blessing to all who knew her. She seemed to have endless energy in helping anyone and everyone in need and she shone in every imaginable way. Your mom truly made a difference in this world and her remarkable accomplishments are what we can all aspire to. I know that her love and light will continue to shine on through you. Bruce also sends his condolences from B.C. He too has very fond memories of your mom. We had both hoped to see her as well as all of you once again at the second Wildwood reunion next fall. We are so very sorry for all of you and our thoughts and prayers are with you through this difficult time.
Love and God Bless,
Margaret Kehler

I am an old friend of Audreys. We sang together with St. Michael's Sunshine Girls in the '70's and 80's. I was so sorry to hear of her death. One thing we are assured of is, that this wonderful, kind, incredible lady is with her Lord in Heaven. She was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her and I am proud to say I am one of them. My deepest sympathy to all her family. God Bless and take care of you all at this sad time.
