I sit at my computer remembering our wee hours conversations about our husbands and Alzheimer's and our many tears, which only brought us closer - from grade school till we meet again - my friend Big A.

Audrey, how can I ever forget when Mr. Edward Sheftic sent us out of his History class. He said we were making "monkey shines" and would no be able to come back to his class unless we passed a test We got to know each other when we had to sit in the auditorium alone for a few days. We made it back in to his class. I remember spending nights at your house in Ralphton. We were roommates for a short time at 1630 Irving Street, NW, in DC. We went to our first day of work together at USIA when they sent us down to the Walker-Johnson Building on New York Avenue. We didn't see much of each other over the years. For a short time we played Words With Friends until it became too much for you. I'm glad we remained friends over the years.

My dearest Little Sister
Bless you, my darling, and remember you are always in my heart - tucked oh so close there is no chance of escape from your sister. You are my mirror, my midnight companion, laughing together and crying together - you are the reason we wish we were children again. We know each other's hearts - as we always were! We live outside the limitations of time. Between sisters the child's voice says "Never leave me, - never abandon me." I will never leave you. "May Jehovah do so to me and add to it if anything but death should separate me from you. --Ruth 1: 17

I'll carry many happy memories of our times together. Especially in 1970s when we drove around in the Dodge Swinger listening to the hits, Let Your Love Flow comes to mind. It was my favorite thing to hear Aunt Audrey's stories, so introspective. We had a lot of good conversations that helped me throughout this life. Love you, Aunty! Will miss you until the next meeting!
