August J "Gus" Moesch

August "Gus" Moesch, 91, of Buffalo, New York, was called to eternal rest on June 25, 2024 in Largo, Florida, he was a dedicated civil servant, having spent numerous years with the streets department of the City of Buffalo.

A proud veteran, Gus honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. His commitment to his country was a source of great pride and was mirrored in his continued service to his community. He was also a regular attendee and beloved member of the local American Legion, where he enjoyed the camaraderie and the pleasure of dance.

Gus's life was a testament to his enduring passions. His adoration for horses was evident to all who knew him, as was the joy he derived from dancing, especially with his cherished friend, Marie Biathrow.

He leaves behind a legacy through his children, Francis (Lynn) Moesch, Michael (Robin) Moesch, and Barbara (William) Stutz; his daughter-in-law, Denise Moesch; and his adoring grandchildren, Emily, Nicole, Jessica, A.J., Maggie, John Jr., Danny, Billy, and Kevin, as well as several great-grandchildren. Gus reunites in the hereafter with his beloved wife, Mary Moesch; his daughter, Paula Moesch; his son, John Moesch; and Marie Biathrow.

Mass will be offered in memory of Gus on July 12th at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, located at 1507 Trotter Rd, Largo, FL. His final resting place will be at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd, St. Petersburg, FL, where the committal service will be held on July 15th at 9 a.m. May he rest in peace.
