To the Helmers Family: My wife and I spent many delightful and happy hours with both of your parents while living in the Palmer area. Both Square Dancing, (including a trip to Whitehorse), and simply visiting in our homes. Austin always had many stories to tell regarding his career and his love of the outdoors. Our prayers go out to each of you, as we share the loss of a true friend! "May he hike forever in Gods mountains".

I met your dad a long time ago. He was on the verge of retiring and I was just starting my FS career. His work and adventures were very inspiring. I am very sorry to hear of your loss.

I have many great memories of your parents, including a visit in Eagle. Whenever I look at Pioneer Peak I think of your dad hiking his trails. I always will.
