Austin Hunsaker Obituary

Published by East Valley Tribune on Jan. 18, 2006.
Austin Kade Hunsaker June 27, 1987 - January 14, 2006 Our Angel Austin returned home to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 14, 2006, as a result of a tragic accident. All who knew Austin loved him. His smile brightened our days and our lives. Even though Austin was known as an Arcadia football player, close friends and family marveled at his oversized heart and beautiful soul. This life is a time for us to prepare our hearts to meet our Heavenly Father. Though he was only 18, Austin's heart was right and beautiful, making him a welcome and qualified citizen of the Kingdom of God. Austin is preceded in death by many pioneer ancestors who participated in the initial settlement of Mesa, Arizona. Austin is survived by his mother, Loren McCarty Pyper and stepfather, Mark B. Pyper; father, Gary M. Hunsaker and stepmother, Vera Hunsaker; brother, Ryan Hunsaker; sisters, Kaleigh Hunsaker, Sarah Hunsaker, Kealoha Hunsaker and Keonah Hunsaker; stepbrothers, Chad Pyper and Kellen Taylor; and stepsisters, Paige Pyper and Brooke Pyper. Austin is also survived by his grandparents, Ralph and Martha Jo Hunsaker, and Robert and Chris McCarty, and his great-grandmothers, Lora D. Hunsaker of Mesa, Arizona and Frances McCarty of St. Petersburg, Florida. A candlelight vigil has been organized by Austin's many beloved friends for Wednesday, January, 18, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. on the football field at Arcadia High School. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 20, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd., Scottsdale. Funeral services for Austin will be Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 12 noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4225 N. 56th St., Phoenix. Interment will follow at the Mesa City Cemetery. Austin's primary wish would be that all of us remaining on this Earth are kind to each other and that we protect those that are in need of protection. Austin will always remain a special person to me. He was nothing less than kind to everyone and I will miss his smile, contagious laugher, and the twinkle in his eyes so much. He will be forever loved by all who knew him. To Austin: I hope you know that I had a great time with you at Arcadia and am so thankful for the time we did get to spend together... from seeing you at Fry's or Safeway, or even SCC -- every single time you made me smile. After shopping one night with my mom... we walked out of the store and she said, "He looks like such a nice young man". I hope you know how special you were. Now you're up in Heaven watching over all of us and keeping us safe. We love you. I'll try not to cry now that you are gone but instead smile when I think of you and remember what an incredible young man you were. I'll see you again someday. We love you so much.

If we had hours to express our deepest condolences, it would not be enough. As one of the Arcadia Football family, we have become one family. Losing Austin is losing our own. Our prayers go out to the entire family and they go out to all of Arcadia; the students, faculty, parents and all who are hurting. Austin is on the other side smiling down at everyone and wanting to take our pain away. Let his passing not be in vain. You will be in our prayers…always. He will not be forgotten.

I loved him and will continue to. I love each and every one of you and my regrets to not being able to show my presence at this time. My thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of you. Love always Monique~ RIP Lil Huns I love you!

Tom and Pam Cole

January 18, 2006

To the Hunsaker Family:

Pam and I want you to know that we grieve with you over the death of Austin. We have lost 2 sons, one at age 19 and the other at age 35. Eventhough we know that he is in a better place, it is not an easy thing to go through for parents or grandparents. Time, and the love and support of family and friends, will help but the hurt will always be there. Maybe that is the way it should be because we want to keep fresh in our memories the times that we enjoyed with our sons, daughters, and grand children.

All of you are in our constant prayers.
