Sadly watched Dateline Feb 13, 2023. I didn´t know the wonderful Dr. Autumn but wish I had; wish she had lived. A photo showed so much goodness and light in her eyes - and that smile! She smiled with her whole face. God´s blessings to her daughter Cianna and to her family. Barbara Graves Theodore; Kensington, MD

I will always remember my childhood friend, Autumn Klein. She had such a great interest in biology at a very young age. We all knew she'd pursue this field! And, pursue it she did! Even with years passing, I can't believe this happened to such a kind and special person. I always just wanted to spend more time with you as we got older. I am forever grateful that you attended my wedding and we soon after got together in Baltimore for a random visit. I miss you. Rest in peace my dear friend. All the best to your daughter and family.

I will never forget Autumn....her compassion, her intelligence, her kindness and her love for her little girl. I am heartbroken that the world has lost such a beautiful person. Words are not enough to express everyyhing she was. I feel so blessed to have worked with Autumn in Boston during her residency. May she be at peace. With love, Mary Ann

Dr. Autumn Klein was the most caring physician my daughter ever had. She treated my daughter's condition with such dignity and concern, so much so, that even the person she chose to take her place when she moved from Massachusetts has followed Autumn's protocol to the letter, and my daughter continues to thrive. We as a family will never forget Dr. Klein. God Bless her. L.M.

Dr. Klein was an outstanding neurologist, particularly with her drive to establish care for women who had epilepsy. Her brilliance was was accompanied by her caring and compassion for her patients. Her untimely death was a tragic loss to all her patients who she treated at that time, and for all who could have been treated by her.

Tonight I watched Dateline and I knew part of your story Dr. Autumn Klein, but reading all the thoughts of people who knew you confirms what I saw on your eyes, a kind, compassionate woman who was really interested in her patients, family and friends, an extraordinary smart woman and doctor who was willing to go far away for her patients in order to help them, a genius who I am sure could have done so much good in science to help others, I wished I had knew you before this tragedy happened, I send my deepest condolences to your family and love ones, may angels protect them every day and may you rest in peace knowing how much good you did to the ones in need, with my sincere respects.

Taken too soon. Loved by her talent. Missing her. Didn't want her to move from Boston.

I was horrified and saddened by Dr. Klein's death. Dr. Klein was my doctor for several years when I lived in Boston. She was a wonderful doctor - very thorough in her evaluation. very caring, very compete3nt. Her death is a great loss to her patients and to her field. Sincerely, Alice B. Kornblith

I was so sad to hear that Dr. Klein passed away. Her kindness, compassion and intellect made such an impact on all who knew her. I remember being completely impressed by the attentive, thorough and compassionate way she met with me. It was unlike any care I had ever received before from neurologists (and I had been to quite a few in 30+ years!). Her obvious quick intellect and mastery of neurology contrasted so with the adorable rubber frog rain boots she wore (that she told me she wore because her daughter loved them) was charming beyond words. My deepest condolences go to her daughter, parents and loved ones. She will be very missed.

Just can't believe she is gone... Dr Klein gave me hope when all the other doctors suggested me to have an abortion when I was pregnant with my son and having frequent seizures... She helped me in some many different ways that it is impossible to describe..... I'm deeply sad with her dead, and can only pray for her family and little girl....

Dr. Klein was my neurologist at Brigham and Women's during my second pregnancy. I had a different neurologist with my first pregnancy which did not go smoothly. My son thank God was fine, but knew I needed to change for the next. This is when Dr. Klein became my doctor and my pregnancy with my daughter was seamless. Dr. Klein would personally call me at home with blood results and tell me her plan... I had never had a doctor do that before and never since. My favorite part of seeing her was talking about our families at the beginning of my appointments. My son and her daughter were close in age and we both lit up talking about our little loves. She always seemed genuinely interested and NEVER made me feel rushed. She was a different breed of doctor... Brilliant, but down to earth. She really actually listened to her patients and cared. I was devasted when she left BWH cause I was pregnant with my third and couldn't have her. Since the day that I found out about her passing, I think about her, her daughter and her parents almost everyday. My thoughts and prayers are with all affected, especially Cianna and Mr. & Mrs. Klein. Your mother/daughter was wonderful and she will be missed. I feel blessed to have had her in my life.

This candle is for Dr. Klein's little daughter. This SHOULD have been a summer of going to Idlewild and Kennywood, camping, and playing. I had hoped my two young daughters would get to know Autumn's daughter this summer. Now, she has, in effect, lost both of her parents. Prayers and love to Autumn's beautiful little girl.

Dearest Autumn, I will never forget you. We worked together at Mass General Hospital when you were a resident and I was the NP on the team. You were always so kind and patient and I loved talking with you about medicine and our lives. I cannot believe that you are gone. I know how much you loved your little girl. I will keep you both in my prayers as well as your husband. You were and are the embodiment of love, kindness and all that is good. You were the perfect doctor because you not only were kind but so intelligent. I will never forget you Autumn. Please be at peace and know how much you will be missed.

Dear Mr nd Mrs Klein,
I was one of Autumns roommates from Brookline,Mass. It started out with three of us and we were in need of a fourth roommate. Upon meeting her and having a in depth conversation about her future goals and what brought her to Boston,I was thrilled for her to be our fourth roommate.
Her combination of kindness and intelligence was just the right mix and I always enjoyed our long talks about life and what we wished from it. I am deeply sorry for your loss but know for sure she made every moment count with her time here on earth and touched some many peoples lives in such a wonderful way.
My Sincere Condolences

I was deeply saddened to hear of Autumn's passing. She was my neurologist and colleague, and treated me while I was pregnant. To the loved ones of Dr. Klein,
She was my migraine doctor after radiation treatment for a benign brain tumor, highly recommended by my neurosurgeon at Brigham/Women's. She was exceptionally talented, compassionate and one that truly listened to her patients. I recommended her to another patient who shared the same brain tumor journey as I. This is a massive loss to the medical community. Please accept my deepest condolences during this most difficult time.

I had Dr.Klein in December when I was in Magee hospital and had been seeing her up until a month ago. I had gotten eclampsia with my son and ended up at Magee in a coma. I don't remember much of it but I have been told numerous times by my family that if it was for dr.klein I wouldn't be here today to be typing this. She was an amazing doctor and because of her and Wayne(and icu doctor at Magee) I'm am alive today. My heart goes out to her family. What happened was absolutely horrible, and should have never happened. I will be praying for her family.

Dear Autumn's family,
May you find some peace and consolation knowing that she touched so many lives in her short time on this earth. Her friendship, hard work and always a word of encouragement to her colleagues, and her brilliance and compassion with her patients, and her love for her family - the world will be emptier without these, without her. My heart goes out to Cianna. You were a very special little girl to your mom, she loved you so very much.

I have deep gratitude for Autumn Klein for keeping a very special person alive and well so she is able to be a good mommy to her baby. Doctors at our regular hospital sent her, while on life support, to Autumn's care at Magee. Without her, a sweet little boy would be growing up without his mom. The impact she has had on our lives, though indirectly, is profound. Thank you for her.

I feel privileged to be a part of Autumn's neurology family. To know her was to love her. Her warmth, energy and enthusiasm for whatever she did, were exemplary. She really loved her family and was especially fond of her daughter Cianna. Every time she came to the neurophys lab at Brigham for rounds, she would share little stories about her baby girl. Autumn will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers to her family.

Dr. Klein was one of thefirst doctors who thought I had MS. She even performed a spinal tap on me, and I'll never forget her kind manner. I was a patient of Dr. Klein's for a little less than a year. She treated me for migraine headaches and I had been improving remarkably--I went months without having one headache, which never happened under my old neurologists' care. Her death came as a shock to me and I will greatly miss the excellent care I received from her. To all of her family, I am truly sorry for your loss. I hope you find solace in keeping the memories that you do have of her alive in your hearts since no one can ever take those away from you.

I just found out on the passing of Dr. Klein. I offer deepest sympathy to her family and friends. She was simply wonderful doctor and person. Although I have been her patient for less than a year, she was by far the best neurologist I have had in my 26 years with epilepsy. I feel blessed to have been in her care while I was pregnant with my first child. She switched my medication and monitored me during the transition to a safer drug. Because of her compassion, knowledge, and just being a great listener and adviser, my son was born healthy and I had no seizures during my pregnancy. She will be greatly missed by her patients like myself I'm sure. On behalf of my husband, son and my mother who were lucky to have met her, we are offer our condolences and again, are thankful to have known her.
God Bless,

I have known Autumn for 41 years. I remember very well that morning in late November, 1971 that Mr. Bill called our house to let us know that their little girl had arrived.
Throughout Autumn's young life, she was never without her bag of books. She was always reading & I always knew she would make her mark in this world in her very special way. Reading these wonderful messages proves that Autumn was very loved & that she deeply touched so many lives, professionaly and personally. Although we didn't see each other much other the years, Ms. Lois & Mr. Bill kept us up-to-date on what was going on with Autumn. They were so very proud of their "Bug."
It is so difficult to express my sadness over the sudden loss of Autumn...I send my deepest sympathies to Mr. Lois & Mr. Bill and Bob & Cianna. You are in my thoughts & prayers.

It is so difficult to express my sadness over the loss of Autumn – an admired, beautiful, selfless, and cherished woman, doctor, and colleague. I worked with Autumn in research and genetics of epilepsy during her residency at Brigham & Women's. I loved listening to the wonderful stories she told about her family – how she loved her family, her patients, and her work. She always had a funny tidbit to add to any conversation but most of all without thinking and without counting she gave so much of herself to her family circle, her patient and collegial circle and, to the scientific world. She was taken from us on earth much too soon and we all shall miss her terribly. I send my deepest condolences to the Klein and Ferrante families as you grapple with your loss. At the same time at the heart of your unexpected loss be rest assured how very special Autumn is and how deeply she touched so many people.

Autumn was an amazing person, one whom I cannot without effort write of in the past tense. I love her for her sense of humor, dedication towards her patients, colleagues and family, energy and drive, and eagerness to share and learn from others. She is amazing. I loved hearing her stories about her family – she loved them so much and thought of them all the time. We lost her so prematurely on this earth, but SHE MADE A DIFFERENCE. God bless you Autumn and your family. We all miss you and I personally know how your neurology family misses you tremendously. You will always be alive in our hearts and memories. We love you.

Words can't even begin to express how heavy my heart is to learn of the passing of Dr. Klein. I had the pleasure of becoming a patient of her's just a few short months ago... and was looking forward to seeing her again in May. I have dealt with seizures for many years, and Dr. Klein seemed to 'get it' when we met in February. She had offered me hope for my future and was a HUGE source of encouragement. Finally, I had found a doctor who I felt deep down inside could help me. One thing is for certain, Dr. Klein WILL indeed be missed!!! Heaven is for certain a brighter place with that bright smile of her's. "Thank you Dr. Klein for giving me the courage and strength to face my seizures with determination. You were and will continue to be a miracle worker who I consider a hero. You will be missed..."

My prayers go out to Dr. Klein's family. I had the pleasure of working with her in the Dept. of Neurology at UPP/UPMC as her P.A.C. I assisted her with her patients she will be truly missed.

I knew Autumn at St. Paul's School for Girls when she was a student and I was Head of the Middle School. What a delight she was-- bright friendly and full of compassion. It was obvious that she was going to something special with her life and she did. My thoughts are with Autumn's family as they struggle with her loss.

I was Autumn's AP Biology teacher at SPSG. She was so wonderful in every way. She cross-stitched a clock for me upon her graduation, and I have it hanging in my dining room. It is a special treasure and a constant reminder of an exceptional young woman. Her successes are not surprising, nor her dedication and caring ways. I am deeply saddened. I extend my heartfelt sympathy to her family.

I am so shocked and crushed! I am so sorry to hear of Autumn's death! I remember so fondly teaching her Religious Studies at St. Paul's School for Girls...and I still check the time on the clock that she cross-stitched for me in 1989; it is a treasured possession - as she was a treasured student. My heart goes out to all of you. Wishing you all God's comfort and peace!

I attended SPSG with Autumn. She was a year older, and a good friend to me. We were in choir and shows together and one of my favorite memories of her was when she was Adelaide in "Guys and Dolls", and I was a Hot Box Girl. I can still hear her singing "Take Back Your Mink". Even back then it was obvious that Autumn was a treasure. My deepest condolences to her family and friends.
