Averal Clifford Browning

Averal Clifford Browning, affectionately called "Sandy" by his loved ones, passed away peacefully at his home in Trenton, Michigan on Friday, September 26, 2025. He was 85 years old.

Sandy is survived by his loving wife, Sonja; children Tishia (Grant) Browning-Forshee and Jason (Kelly) Browning; granddaughter Elise; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willia and French Browning and siblings, Roger Browning, Bevelyn (Jim) Budenski, and Patricia (Frank) Bacha.

He proudly served his country through two enlistments in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. After his military service, he obtained his Electrician's license and worked at Ford Motor Company until retirement.

Sandy loved his family dearly, and they deeply admired his dedication to providing for them, as well as the many skills and hobbies he shared throughout his life. He was a lifelong fitness enthusiast and a skilled carpenter, having built many homes and countless other projects. In his personal time, he also enjoyed practicing marksmanship and sailing his Hobie Cat.

Always generous with his time, knowledge, and support, he touched the lives of relatives both near and far, leaving a legacy of care and devotion. Sandy will be profoundly missed, carried in our hearts as he takes his final voyage into heaven.

In accordance with his wishes, Sandy's family will forgo a funeral and instead host a small dinner with close family and friends.
