Avery Wright Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 21, 2012.
Avery DeBoye Wright, age 56, after a short illness at Cooper's Hospital in Camden, NJ, our beloved brother has been called to our fathers' house on Thursday, June 21, 2012, where he will continue life anew. Avery was born in Wilmington, DE. He resided in Swedesboro, NJ at the time of his departure. He was the son of the late William and Barbara Ann Purnsley and was also preceded in death by a sister, Carole Susan Wright. Upon graduating from school, Ave set out to work at Piane's, Maria's Restaurant, Dillworthtown Inn and the Holiday Inn. Avery honed his culinary skills as a chef, was a well traveled person who liked to collect antiques, and was never short of friends. An avid fan of the Fifth Dimensions from the 70's, a friendship that endures to this day, according to Ms. Florence Larue, he was more than a fan. As Avery's journey begins, his memories are left with us to cherish forever by his siblings, Brenda Wright-Seagers (Michael), Georgette A. Wright and Yolanda R. Beattie, Edward A. Wright (Brenda), Steven L. Wright, Timothy M. Wright (Veronica), William J. Wright and William E. Wright; He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including Mr. Edward Stumph, Mr. Joe Lynch and their families. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at Cooper's Hospital who attended to Avery. Funeral will be 10 am Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Congo Funeral, 201 N. Gray Avenue, Wilmington, DE 19805; viewing 8-9:45 am only; burial, Gracelawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Congo Funeral Home, P. O. Box 2593, Wilmington, DE 19805.
