I can't believe I'm just learning of his passing now. I was a resident at UConn/Hartford Hospital and he was my teacher. To this day, I still hear his voice in my head, when I'm working through epilepsy cases and reading EEGs especially when I have a tough case. Somehow, his voice always guides me to the best decision. This is because he was an incredibly gifted neurologist and epileptologist. His teachings spoke to me and his kindest was always present in every interaction. He will be sorely missed.

Dr. Avinash Prasad was one of the most caring, wonderful doctors I have ever seen. It was truly a gift to be in his presence as well as be a patient of his. It is with great sorrow that I read of his passing this morning. What a beautiful human and although I have not needed to see him in quite some time, I have thought of him often. Please know that I will be forever thankful for having met him and that I will be thinking of his family with the deepest sympathy and sending heartfelt prayers. With love, Deb

There are not enough good things to say about Dr. Prasad; he was a truly wonderful man and an amazing doctor. I was blessed to be his patient for at least 15 years, and there was not a moment when I did not also feel that we were friends. We were the same age, and we often joked about how old we were getting. I will miss him more than I can say. My heart goes out to his family, close personal friends, patients and co-workers. We have all suffered a great loss.

Dr Prasad was an amazing doctor and human being. For three weeks while at another hospital in 2007 my husband was very ill and they couldn’t figure out what was wrong, he was transferred to Hartford Hospital. Dr Prasad saw him and in 10 minutes knew what was wrong. He has been our doctor since then. He will be greatly missed by our family. God bless you all.
