We adored Ayako´s sweet visits at the Police Department! We loved seeing her smiling face, chatting and hearing her inspiring stories. She was such a beautiful person inside and out, and always radiated light and positivity. She will be missed!

Joy- we have fond memories of our first trip to NYC and your mom met us there- she was such a trooper going everywhere with two families with young kids! Good memories of the wonderful dinner party the two of you hosted- she was so gracious and shared stories of her life in Japan. And of course when you hosted our cultural badge for Girl Scout Troop 12 and she made the lightest tempura (we found a new cooking tool- the spider!) and she wrapped a few of the girls in traditional kimonos- they were so gorgeous- that was such a treat \- she was *so* engaging with the girls! xx

We didn´t have the opportunity to meet Ayako, but many of her beautiful qualities are evident in her family members. What a legacy.

Ayako San was very kind, sweet and full of life. She was one of the hardest working, optimistic and resilient person I've ever met. She taught me how to cook tempura. she hosted a birthday party for me at her place 7 years ago and made the most delicious turkey dinner I've ever had. She reminded me to write letters to my parents often. I will miss her so much!

She told me one day she would bring me one of the African violets that she was growing and sure enough she did. It graces our windowsill at Services for the Elderly. We will miss her positive energy
