Hi. Many of you may not know me, but I am Aziz Anis's grandson. I always thought of him as my greatest role model because no matter what, he pushed me. He was so empathetic, a generous grandfathered, and gave us all the best advice even though he had a harder life. Though, through tragedy, he found the light. He moved from 3 different countries and worked so hard for his 4 daughters that he never cared about himself. If you had met him, you could easily say he was the funniest, kindest, and happiest person on this planet. He is now in the hands of the Father, looking down on everybody, especially his loved ones. You can easily say he is a saint in heaven. But the most important thing was his selflessness. He never told us that there was a chance he might not make it through the surgery, but he wanted us to promise "that this amazing family never to split". And I think that we are doing a pretty darn good job of doing that with the help of Saint Aziz. I hope we can all appreciate his full and amazing life and can be influenced by his success and resilience.
With much love, your 7th grader

I write this with deepest condolences to you, Jolene and family for the loss of your husband and father. I think about Aziz often and I am sorry that distance and busy schedules did not allow for closer ties in the latter years of his life. I cherish my friendship with your husband and the advances in Ophthalmology that we explored together. I have the best memories of our work together; he profoundly impacted my career and life. May God bless you!

We were deeply saddened to hear of my "Big Cousins" sudden passing.
He definitely has created a legacy in his professional career, but more importantly in his personal life.
My fondest memories were seeing him marry his wife Jolene when I was 14 and also going to the T.V. station to watch and edit a surgery video.
I am so proud to call him my cousin.
All our thoughts and prayers are with you at this hard time.
We will see you all soon.
