I started my career at KRDO in 2002, intent on becoming a news photographer. Nine months later, and still stuck in the job of tape editor, I was getting frustrated that my cameraman skills were not being utilized. But Baaron, Dave Rose, and Kelly Schultz saw something else in me, and encouraged me to go in a new direction. All these years later, I am still a producer at the station. In all that time, I never heard Baaron say a bad thing about anyone. When people talk about what it means to be a "true" Christian, it is Baaron I think of. I will miss your quirky puns, I will miss your insightful knowledge of the Pikes Peak region, but mostly, I will miss your kindness.

Baaron was a fun guy to be around and a great coworker. He took this green high school kid and taught me how to write news as well as cover spot news coverage. We both moved on, but he was a highlight of my early career. The world lost a great soul.

I knew Baaron professionally. He was a smart and ethical newsman who easily shared his expertise with the younger members of the KRDO staff. My deep condolences to his family and friends.

"Baaron was a marvelous son and a professional in his career. I was fortunate to be hired by his father at the USOC and it changed my life. My heart aches for Baaron for the loss of his son and hope his memories of him are bright and that they will sustain him and bring his peace and comfort. Baaron, his wife and his late son are among the most wonderful people I have ever known." -Mike Moran

Baaron you were a bright light in my life!!! The joy and the things I learned from you will never be forgotten!! What I have always missed about you being around is catching me off guard walking down the hall at WSDR, and then a rubber band would come flying at me!!! I will MISS YOU!!! Lisa

Baaron was always smiling and telling jokes. I could tell he's greatest treasures on earth were his beautiful bride and his son. He couldn't stop smiling when looking at or talking about these two important people. Love, hugs, and prayers

I am proud to say I have known Baaron for nearly two decades in so many different ways. I was a rival journalist at a competitor tv station in Colorado Springs and knew him as a professional who tried to make a difference in our community in his craft. As a colleague, when I worked at KRDO with him, I saw a fellow journalist who tirelessly tried to keep the calm in the chaos of day to day managing of people but never gave up his humanity to help boost others when they were down. He was always there for you and now I'm proud to be there for his grieving family and other friends. Thanks Baaron for being you!

Baaron was a true testament of God's love to others. I was blessed to work with him many years ago. He, along with his great wife, Sara, took great care of me when I first moved to Colorado Springs. I remember one occasion when I had a bad day at work, Baaron just took me to the side of the room and asked sincerely, "What's wrong?"

That's just Baaron. He connected with people so easily. I knew he really cared about my feelings. To me, that was his gift from God: a true heart for others.

The Lord has a good man in Heaven now.

Blessings

I completely enjoyed my friendship with Baaron -- from pitching stories to him, to working with him at PRACO, to eating lunches . . . . He was honorable, honest, dedicated and hard working. I will miss him.
