Barbara Jones Amburn

Amburn WYTHEVILLE, Va.-Barbara Jones Amburn, age 69, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side, Wednesday Feb. 20, 2013. She attended Evergreen United Methodist Church, and was the daughter of the late Charles and Pansy Connoy Jones. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Adam Amburn; sister, Mildred Carol "Tom" Jones; brother, Wayne Jones; and a nephew, Ronnie Jones. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Belinda and Tony Stroupe of Max Meadows, Va., Crystal and David Maier of Lewistown, Mont., and Vicki and Jerry Jones of Wytheville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Geneva and Robert Stroupe, and Darlyne and W.R. Hoback, both of Wytheville; brothers and sister-in-law, David and Sue Jones, James "Billy" Jones and Donnie Jones, all of Wytheville; five grandchildren, Cody, Alex, Justin, Josi and Jeremy; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Grubb Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Pastor Steve Alderman. The family will receive friends at Grubb Funeral Home, Saturday at 10 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Evergreen United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund or to Hospice of Southwest Virginia, 600 W. Ridge Rd., Wytheville, VA 24382.
