Barbara Bannister Obituary

Barbara S. Bannister, 73, of Crothersville, passed away at 1:56 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015, at her home.
Born May 16, 1942, in Dupont, she was the daughter of Charles Hash Eble and Bertha Mae Graham Eble, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 10, 1960, in Uniontown, she married Bert J. Bannister, who survives.
Barbara was a 1960 graduate of Crothersville High School. She retired from Sylvania in 1999 and also had worked at U.S. Shoe Factory, American Can Co., H.O. Canfield Industries, Talon and Electra. She was a member of Cana United Methodist Church, Phi Beta Psi sorority and the guild at Schneck Medical Center.
Besides her husband of 55 years, survivors include a daughter, Tammy (Jack) Swindell of Seymour; a son, Gregory Scott (Christine) Bannister of Bowling Green, Kentucky; a sister, Penny (Terry) Hollin of Crothersville; six grandchildren, Kyler (Carly) Blevins of Crothersville, Caleb, Cheyanne and Clarissa Bannister, all of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Lauren and Lindsay Swindell, both of Seymour; and two great-grandchildren, Kolton and Kase Blevins, both of Crothersville.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Ann French and Donna Kay Smith.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday.
Burial will take place at Cana United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Schneck Medical Center Guild or Cana United Methodist Church Cemetery.
