Barbara Ann Barry Rhodes, born August 4, 1939, to Charles Lee Barry and Margaret Couch Barry, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 15, 2025. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, SC 29406. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 63 years, Leon E. "Buddy" Rhodes; and her son, Barry Rhodes. She is survived by her sister, Beth Geisenberger (Sam); her daughter, Margaret Ewald (Karl); and four cherished grandchildren. Barbara was educated in the Natchez Public Schools, graduating from Natchez High School in 1957. She earned her degree from Mississippi State College for Women in 1961. A lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of Natchez, Barbara was deeply involved in church life, participating in Youth League and summer camps, teaching Bible School, and serving faithfully as a Deacon. She was also active in Ladies Church Circle, Women of the Church, and the Missionary Group.

In 1961, Barbara married her high school sweetheart, Buddy Rhodes. Their home, Dunbar Farm, was a gathering place for family and friends who shared in fishing, hunting, horseback riding, four-wheeling, creek adventures, cooking, camping, and card games. Barbara taught fifth grade at Trinity School for many years, a role she embraced with dedication and warmth. Before and after her retirement, she and Buddy traveled extensively, creating treasured memories together. She was a proud member of the William Dunbar Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Pilgrimage Garden Club, and the Ladies of the Club Bridge Group. Barbara enjoyed bridge, reading, cooking, boating, fishing, and gardening. Above all, she was devoted to her children and grandchildren and held a special place in her heart for her many horses and dogs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Natchez or the Adams County Humane Society.
