PEORIA – Barbara Bentz, 78, of Sebring, Florida, formerly of Peoria, died at 4:30 p.m., Friday, June 21, 2013, at Peace River Regional Medical Center, in Port Charlotte, Florida. She was born in Peoria, on July 2, 1934, to Robert and Louise Alwood Hanamean. She married Richard Bentz on July 20, 1957, in Hernando, Mississippi. He survives. Also surviving are her children, Kathleen (David) Traenkenschuh of East Peoria, Rebecca (Thomas) Headington of Germantown Hills, Susan Rogy of East Peoria, William (Mary) Bentz of Limerick, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents; one brother and one sister. Graveside services and burial will be Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Pastor Ted Benson will officiate. The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
