Barbara Ruth Bledsoe

Barbara Ruth Bledsoe, age 92, of Bel Air Maryland went home to be with the Lord on November 22, 2025. Born February 17, 1933 in Roan Mountain, Tennessee, she was one of eight children to Lewis Gardner and Francis Hughes. Barbara traveled to Baltimore in 1953 with her sister Goldie where she worked for the Baltimore Telephone company, later Glenn L. Martin before retiring from Western Electric.

Thru the years she helped her younger brothers and sisters relocate and gain employment in and around Baltimore. She met the love of her life John Bledsoe Sr. and spent 66 happily married years before his passing in 2022. Barbara is survived by one son John Jr. (Mary) and one grandson Ben (Meg). Barbara had an outgoing personality, striking up conversations with people and truly never met a stranger.

She was an avid gardener; lover of hummingbirds, bluebirds, vintage costume jewelry and genealogy but her dearest love was her faith and love for Jesus. Barbara was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and attended faithfully until her health declined.

Visitation will be held Saturday November 29, 2025, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, from 10 - 11 am, with a service to follow. Interment at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
